Lunch time with Papa

Here I am being fed by Papa. He gets very sleepy just watching me eat with my eyes closed. I peek at him while he feeds me and have to make some noise every now and then when he doesn't hold my bottle exactly right cause he fell asleep. He is a quick one though, he will fix it right away. He is learning!!

Ok, Ok, here are some more pics

Here I am propped up so Mommy could get a picture of me in my GAP outfit. She is so excited that I am now fitting into "big boy" clothes now. She just didn't think I would fit into them so soon. She had to hurry up and take the photo so I didn't spit up on her good chairs. The other one is covered "just in case". She doesn't know yet that most of my spit ups occur when she is holding me. Mostly because she just can't seem to put me down for 2 minutes. She has been a real trooper while Oma and Opa have been here. At least they have gotten to hold me once or twice. Mommy is never far away though.

Time for a diet!!

Here I am in Opa's arms while he stands on the scale to weigh me (Oma is reading the scale). I weigh a wopping 12 pounds at 5 weeks old!!! Everyone said they had an idea that I was packing on the pounds since I am wearing clothes that say 3 mo. Is that bad? =) They also did an "unofficial" measurement and I am currently at 23 inches long. So, as you can see, I am in perfect proportions for my length and weight. A lot of my weight is in my cheeks (on my face) just like my daddy and Uncle RJ. They never grew out of it so I may always have them too!

Let the spoiling begin.......

Oma and Opa came in last week and boy has it been great. I really enjoy taking a nap while being held for hours!! Hmmm, I wonder if mom will be able to keep this up when they leave?
I hope mommy checks their suitcases when they leave.....I heard them talking the other day about taking me home with them. All in all, I think I have them wrapped around my little finger. Was there ever any thought that I wouldn't??!! Hee hee.

I miss Daddy!!!

Well, my daddy left today for Iraq. Yes it is only for 8 days but this is how it makes me feel already. Can't imagine how it will be later this summer when he leaves for 15 months! I am a little cranky and so is mommy. Daddy has only been gone a few short hours and already we are missing him like crazy. Thank goodness for cell phones though since he has called at least 10 times before his flight left. Mommy puts the phone on speaker so I am able to hear his voice and I love it when he talks to me!!

I do have a terrific daddy. He tries the "tough love" on me but it doesn't work. Either I have him wrapped around my little finger or it could be mommy crying and giving him the guilty look. Either way, it doesn't last very long. Hee hee. I am sure it will change when I get older and really try to pull on those heart strings. Mom is the one who is a push over. I will have to work on Dad a little more! He really tries so I have to give him credit.

Daddy, please come home soon. We miss you so much. I am not sure how well mom will do when she tries to give me my bath tonight since that is our ritual. Same with bedtime. Our bonding time means a lot to me and I can't wait for you to come home soon.

We love you sooooooo much!!!!!! STAY SAFE PAPA!!!!

2 Week check-up!!

Well, J just had his 2 week check-up and it went really well. Daddy wasn't able to go so it was just mom and the little man. He is up to 9.8 lbs now!!! Wow. Of course he is at the top of the charts in all his catagories. Surprise, I know.

After they got his stats, he got his vitamin K shot in his thigh. Mom had a much harder time with that than he did. He cried just a bit when it went in but then was done. He is such a brave little trooper. Then we were off to the lab. They did a heel prick to check for things that the Germans just don't check for (sickle cell, etc). Again, mom had a harder time with that. He was more frustrated because the lab tech wouldn't let go of his foot (she had to get a few drops of blood on a form). Then of course he stopped bleeding so the other heel had to get pricked. Poor little guy. After his appoinment, both mom and baby had to come home and take a nap to recover.

He has been doing great. He is a happy and healthy baby.
